Also very glad to see all of you still around. Brings back good memories.

Hey Kyle, good to see ya around here.  It's been a long time.  I've put the word in at the VMX forums, but Idk if anyone will ever see it.  Hopefully we can get more guys back into Reflex.

Bruce, if you converted the dirttwister sx series to reflex you would be my hero!  I have so many fond memories of running those tracks back in the day.
#3
Thanks guys.  I'll see if I can get this working finally.

I know what you mean Miki.  I am having trouble getting the zone files to work.  When I try and load a zone map my rider keeps resetting like I ran off the track (if there was a spline).  Could someone explain how to create the zone file a little better.  I have read the wiki countless times and still can't get it right.  I know it has to do with me not having a clue how to make an indexed bitmap.

Thanks, that is exactly what my track appears like right now.

It's nice to come back and see a lot of familiar "faces" around here.  I think it's gonna be a good couple years of racing to come. :-)

What are you using for editing?   With Photo Shop/GIMP you have to make sure that you save using the extended bmp formats.  In Paint Shop Pro you can't save a bmp with an alpha, although you can save other formats with an alpha, so you can be tricked into thinking you have one.

The DXTBmp program is very useful for this.  You can just drag your image to an icon on your desktop and it displays both the image and alpha.

I'm using PS CS4.  I did not use the extended bmp format.  I think I just saved it as a 24bit bmp if my memory serves me correctly.

I am going to assume it has to do with the alpha on both options 1 and 2.  I put one in ( I thought), but I am not very experienced with Alpha layers.  I'm sure there is something wrong.  I'll check into it this evening.  Thanks Bruce.

After a couple hours playing, I have the terrain scale and everything figured out I think.  I got a disp map in and scaled to suit me.  I am running into a problem finding what lights the scene?  I imported a base texture, chrome lum map, and a dirt overlay.  When I open the track ingame it is almost completely white.  What do I need to do to back down the brightness so I can see the texture?

Well crap... It's been a good 5 or 6 years of productivity in my life.  It's been a good run, but it's time to make some tracks!  Thanks guys!  I can't wait to try this out.

Thanks for the update.  Good luck with splines, I'm sure they are very different from previous games.

Yeah, I am anxiously awaiting more information.  I can't wait to possibly make tracks for this game.  It's been a long time since I have made a track.

Yeah I know.  I do not have any idea why someone would run the clutch on the right bumper.  The clutch is really on the left of a bike and it is just so much easier to access on the controller with it on the left.

Thanks Bruce!  It worked this time.   :)

General Discussion MX vs ATV Reflex / Controller Mappings
February 04, 2011, 02:09:44 PM
Does anyone know why I can't change my controller mapping?  I want my clutch to be left bumper and trick modifier on the right bumper. Whenever I go to the controller mapping menu it won't let me change anything.  I am new to using steam so I am unsure if this has to be done outside of the game or if it isn't possible.

You make a good point.  I still have not bought into the iPhone hype yet.  Either way, I have the game now and all I can say is I've been playing MX Simulator too long. lol  It's like learning how to ride all over again.

Wow...  I had no idea any of this was going on.  It is REALLY good to see all the MCM2 guys back around again.  I'm going to have to buy this thing soon and see what I can contribute. :-)

Hmmm... I'll find out soon if it works or not.  My new pc will have an Nvidia Geforce 8800.  I hope it runs MVA. :)

I ordered a new pc that will be in tomorrow and I can't wait to check out UE2.  My only question is will it run on Vista?
