General Discussion MCM 2 / Re: GRR..FPS problem!
January 04, 2006, 02:12:11 AM
Thanks for the input guys! I`m just surprised that it might actually be doing worse then my other crappy card that was 5 years old! Also, I read that my card is comparable to a Radeon X300. My other computer has that card, and it runs mcm2 at full resolution, everything on and 10 AI and 60fps no problem! Then again that computer is a bit faster (p4 2.8ghz, 512mb ram), so that may make the difference.

General Discussion MCM 2 / GRR..FPS problem!

Hey there,
First here are the specs:
AMD Athlon 1.0Ghz
128mb ram
Windows ME
ATI Radeon 9600 SE 128mb

Now I know it`s not the best setup, but I`m getting HORRIBLE FPS in mcm2. For instance, on most SX tracks on 1024x768 with full detail I get about 10 Fps. I think my old Nvidia TNT2 32mb got better fps than that! Something has to be wrong, I should be getting at least 35-45 I`m thinking...any thoughts? Thanks.

General Discussion MVA / Re: NO CUSTOM BIKE SKINS!!!

Maybe it`s just me, but I love the preload effect in MX vs ATV. I agree that it is a bit ridiculous in both games how you can preload out of the freakin stadium if need be, but what I love is how it is pressure sensitive. So you can preload a wee bit if you need that extra bit of oomph to get over the jump, or if you make an inside pass and dont have much speed, you can still get over the jump. Also if you master how to preload (know exactly how much to preload when and where) I think it`s a very cool addition to the game, and I know for a fact that it makes my lap times faster, because it allows me to take different lines.

Ahh nevermind now, I guess all that I needed was those drivers! It detects my card now and it works perfect. Sorry for buggin you all lol

Yeah my card doesnt have that power wire, so that is out of the way. I tried reseating it like you guys said, still nothing. I did notice that on the monitor connector (the side that connects into the radeon) it is missing two pins! I don`t know if that makes a difference..but regardless it should still AT LEAST detect the card! I downloaded some ME drivers from the ati site and I`ll try that..but untill then keep the suggestions coming! Thanks for all your help!

Hey guys,
I just installed my ATI Radeon 9600 SE and I don`t even think my computer detects it. This is what happened:
Before I took my NVidia card out, (A crappy rivatnt2 or something) I uninstalled it through add/remove programs just like the manual says. After that my screen when all weird with colors and was stuck on 640x480 or whatever. I then put the new radeon in, installed it with the cd-rom and what not, and nothing has changed! It won`t let my change the display, the colors are weird, and when I look at my adapters, it says I have a Standard PCI Graphics adapter (VGA). And under manufacturer, it says (Standard display types). Now I`m not too smart with computers, but this leads me to think that the computer is still not detecting ANY card in it. Here is my system: (Bought in 2001)
Compaq
AMD Athlon 1ghz
128mb ram

Thanks for ANY help!
