General Discussion MCM 2 / Re: mtx relesed today??
October 14, 2004, 02:30:36 PM
The date is october 2004. I heard there was a multiplayer mode http://dirttwister.com/smf/index.php?topic=147.0 but on 3d gamers it says none http://www.3dgamers.com/games/mtxmototrax/. Has anyone heard of this?

Will I be able to change their color and logo? That'd be awesome. PM me for my Email, unless you post them somewhere. Thanks!

Ah, sorry. All the textures were for concept anyway. Oh now I remember, you made the haybale texture. I thought it was ripped from a THQ game. I'll remove them. Does anyone know how to make a cloth wrinkle in photoshop?

For crashes you can eject the player from a vehicle if he collides with objects or terrain eg. if he lands upside down he'll crash.
For acceration will be the same as a buggy (in the game) probably, but we'll probably apply an inpulse object (a push object) to the front of the bike to make it "Wheelie". I'm pretty sure FarCry already has gyro physics for acceleration/de-acceleration but not balancing.
For cornering, FarCry allows vehicles with two wheels, all we have to do is apply weights at the bottom (under ground) and on the sides then adjust the weights while you're turning. Power slides are built into FarCry also.
For tracks we'll use a custom game type with check points and an area shape in the map editor to keep you on the track.
Also in case your wondering we're going to use animations and key bindings for stunts.
Hope this answers your question.

Great! Textures, mapping, whatever it would be a great help. You should all contact yamahaalex37@hotmail.com (mod leader), and let him know you want to join.

Great! You could help out by coding, mapping, modeling, skinning, or creating sounds. Whatever you think you could contribute.

Yeah, it's possible to code stunts and animations. The vehicle code is easy, I already have some ideas for the dirtbike code. But are the objects on these sites public domain?
#11
May I use some of these objects in a mod i'm working on for FarCry?

Does anyone know where to find 3 angles of dirt bike images for 3d modeling? I could make really cool models. Thanks.
#13
Can you get three screen shots for three different axises with some debug mode built into the game?

How would you convert ".pkg" files to 3d studio max? I am working on a mod for FarCry and I need dirt bike models.
