General Discussion / Forum Issues and User Purge
January 26, 2011, 09:12:12 AM
The forum has been moved to a new server because of a registration e-mail problem.  Most forums have a problem with the activation and password reminder e-mails being trapped by spam filters, so they show up in your spam folder.  This forum was previously hosted on GoDaddy which forces you to use their SMTP server and they then implemented a filter which didn't allow sending of those e-mails.  After 3.5 hours of multiple support calls I gave up.

The only solution was to move to a different server.  I then took the time to delete a bunch of users.  There are a lot of spam users so I used the criteria if you registered prior to 06/01/2010 and had posted only 1 time then the user was deleted.  If you registered prior to 11/15/2010 and never posted then you were deleted.

If you registered prior to 1/23/2011 and didn't get an activation e-mail then I activated you manually.

If you registered 1/23/2011 to 1/25/2011 and didn't get an activation e-mail then I sent a reminder e-mail.

If you have registered and can't get in or if you can't register please let me know bruceatk @ gmail.com

Sorry for all the trouble,
Bruce

I'm glad to see the interest.  I'm still waiting to get mine.  The stores around here don't seem to want to carry it.  I played with the demo.   I am anxious to see what we can do with it.

The way I feel is that I will play MCM 2 until another MX game comes along that I can make tracks for.    MCM 2 does what it does and does it well.

You can download it from here now.  I can't believe it wasn't on the list.  It's on the server, so I fixed the download page and here is a link to it.

Those are added by the standard SMF template.  I can only assume that pure SMF passes the tests.  The TD stuff was added to the templates and the TD banner/menu doesn't pass the tests.

Ultimately it will nice to clean them up but we haven't taken the time to do it.

I can't imagine a jump that big.

If you run out of space, you can use "Levels" to scale what you have worked on down so you have more room.  You would then also have to adjust the strength in Dillo to compensate.

Look at the "Track Making Tips" section on my site.  Go to the "Hilly Terrain" tip.

Sometimes a smooth dispmap doesn't necessarily look that pretty either.

Here is my Valley Ride dispmap:

That is something that I added to YABBSE.  I haven't investigated yet how to do that with SMF.  It is something I'll be doing, but probably not for another week or so.

After a serious problem with the server we are back.  We decided to take this time to setup a new forum.  The original TD Forum and the YABBSE TD Forum are available to search and read.  You can get to them using the "Archive I" and "Archive II" buttons located in the upper right, beside the Forum tree.

Archive I - contains messages from 1999 thru July 2002.
Archive II - contains messages from July 2002 thru Jan 2004.
