Hey guys,
My HDD crashed this morning and now I've put in a 250GB HDD and installed Win XP Pro and now it says it's only 127GB... anyone knows what's up with that?
Peace out, Clint
maybe you need to use partition magic to make smaller partitions..
i used C:10gb, d:30gb, E:30gb, F:30gb on my 120gb hd
I got it now, I had to rescan it and then format the other partition (it made 2 only showed 1) :)
wow my HDD just went also, and i know a few other ppls who did also. wierd
I've busted about 5HDD's in a year or so :S wierd
i had 1 hd for 5-6 years befor i went but can still brows the content. my current on i have had for 3 years..
i partion my hd in 1/4 and run norton utilleties maybe thats what have stoped it form crashing.. and place the things i rearly use on the last partition.like the windows cd and drivers and backup
guys running xp you have to have xp with the 2nd service pack or else it will only read up to 130gigs i believe but ya you can partition it but if u want it to read all of your HD you need to have xp with service pack 2 on disk and then install it...crap u know wat i mean i forget the words when u take xp and have service pack 2 together to install but whtever
You don't need SP2. Go the the configuration panel > system management > computer management (I might be off here, my XP is dutch so...), there you gotta scan for partitions or new drives, then format the partitions/drives it found and done :)
