Title: HELP
Post by: VMX_Slowpoke2 on February 06, 2005, 08:12:39 PM
Well i've been trying to use mcm2 for the longest time and i just can't get it to work. so i just reformatted my hard drive. i have a Nvidia GeForce2 mx 64mb. now when i go into the game and click on a race mode such as Supercross and click on the bikes tab or enter the game it locks up on me. the screen will freeze and i have to exit. i just updated the driver and it does the same stuff.

Any help?

Don't think that would be it, that just makes rendering faster, and the soon as he opens something 3D like the bikes and the tracks it crashes... probably some bad drivers... try an older one .. or newer one but I think you have the newest...

:-\ ohhhh in that case it could be something simple as a bad skin or track

No, probably something with the gfx car/drivers.

;D Well.... I could tell ya..... but then I would have to kill ya!

lol..... no seriously ....  for the possible problem I suggested.. it's simple as removing
everything that wasnt installed by the game. In accord with cRs theory, you may want
to make sure you ave te indeo drivers installed. once you've ruled that out and still have
the problem you want to try different versions of your video driver.

good luck pokey.... peace  ;)

Oh yea....run dxdiag and test your directX..... ya never know

Why the Indea driver? Thats a videa codec? Has nothing to do with GFX, and thats obviously the problem.

:) .... beause its happened to me before on an occasion when I needed to reinstall MCM2 and didn't have the Indeo driver installed. When I launched the game it would crash me out to the desktop. Installing the Indeo driver solved the problem

Yea that because of the intro video...it needs the codec. He can go ingame but it crashes soon as something 3D needs to be rendered...

What operating system are you using? XP you might need to set compatibility mode to win9x in the Shortcut properties. You might have a damaged game file, do you have it all stock from the installation? Try copying the game files over from the CD manually - you can find the files in the 'GAME' folder of the CD. Do you have the No-CD patch installed?

Okay lets see if this will shed some light on the situation.................

I can run the game freezing free if i click on the software raterization selecton as soon as the game starts.
If i click my graphics card the game will freeze as i enter the track or click the bike tab.

Try to rollback your video card driver or download an older drver from http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?id=10  I had problems runing newer nvidia drivers on mcm2 and this solved my problem.
