I'm going to venture to say that some people have a sneak preview versioon of the new bikeswitcher that allows larger file sizes.

I haven't had time to post anything yet, but if you have the RM250 model and you want to use it here is a version of bike switcher that will allow you to use it.  This is not the new bike switcher.  In fact the new bikeswitcher will have a new name, because it will do more than switch bikes or riders.

This is just the bikeswitcher exe so you may need to install BikeSwitcher 1.2 before using it.  Just replace your 1.2 exe with the one in the zip.  The zip is password protected and the password is "4meg".

http://dirttwister.com/utilities/BikeSwitcher14.zip

I'll be posting a news item up later today and Extreme will then be free to release more models.

You can see from the date time stamp in the zip that this has been around for a while.  Just goes to show how lazy I've been in wrapping up the Bike Switcher replacement.

i think it would help out extreme the most. i know he dislikes everyone asking him to pack bikes. lol idk maybe its not what we think it is. its prolly not but we should all hope for the best

i know he dislikes everyone asking him to pack bikes.

You should hope this isnt true coz i still have to pack the bikes for u lol
What I dislike is packing the same bike 5 or 6 times coz the guy who made it has messed it up  :)

I don't want to put more pressure on Extreme.  Enjoy what you have and let him announce/post as he is ready.

As far as what the new Bikeswitcher can do/will do:

1. The new program is called MCM 2 Package Manager.
2. When it's first released, (I'm hoping this month but it may have to wait until I get back from vacation (1st week of March)), it will let you add seperate bike and rider packages at the same time.
3.  It will have the capability (but there won't be any packages yet) to add packages to the other resource files.   That means things like sounds, the other bike models and skins built into the game,  setting up your own Pro Circuit, and a few other things that we are either currently experimenting with or want to try.

I didn't intend for it to seem like I kept wanting more Bruce, I'm happy with what you have given us so far. :)
Also, for something you're trying, will you be able to make it so that the a.i. will use custom skins instead of the stock?

Hmm would be sweet if you could replace them!

What do you mean by separate bike and rider packages? Will the new bikeswitcher be able to use different riders with different bikes? I always thought they had to be packaged together and couldnt be changed. Yah I know I'm a pain in the a$$.

They won't have to be packaged together.

Layman's terms:  You can mix and match them. :)

I don't think we will ever be able to control the AI skins.  The possibility is there to entirely replace the skins used by the game.

i think extreme is thinking of me when 5-6 times  but how can i know if the bike is right when everything seems right in max and dillo1  then in mcm2 its all messed up.. (tested thos models in the milkshape and everything worked beside the tex)

Yea that does suck, not beeing able to test as you go...
Title: Re: MXU_RM250

So even though we can't customize which skins the ai uses, we can still change them though?
Title: Re: MXU_RM250
Post by: DirtTwister on February 09, 2005, 09:45:39 PM
I need to keep saying the "potential" is there.   The program by itself won't do it.  It just installs packages.  Those  packages can contain any MCM 2 files.   What you can do, is based on what packages are available.  Right now there are no skin packages, but one could be created.  We have a lot of stuff on the plate and these things take time.
