Title: Leveller

I was wondering if anyone knows of any tutorial videos for Leveller other than one the that is already on the twisted dirt website from ElDiablo..  Ive figure out how to make jumps and rhythm sections and whatnot.. I just cannot figure out how to make smooth berms.. Ive been making them just by using the rise tool but i figured there must be another way that would make them more symmetrical and smooth.

I dont have leveller but i know that logan2050(on crntral) uses it. Perhaps talk to him and he explains some things to you :) (his steam is *DM* Logan )

ohh good idea darkslides! Ill have to IM him on steam.  I also was hoping some of the trackmakers that have been using leveller for a while could have some imput as well. Dont be shy on advice guys!

Actually I use a combination of photoshop and leveller. Make a berm in Photoshop and import it into leveller and smooth it out.

Any more questions just fire away!

So i already have berms made in photshop that i use on tracks... "pre-made berms" if you will.. Is it possible to import just that berm into leveller in a specific spot? or is it one of those deals where if the berm wasnt in there to begin with then i cant and i have to make my berms from scratch?

Yeah you absolutely CAN import your PS made objects.  You'll have to play around with it to figure it out. I haven't opened Leveller in a couple years and don't exactly recall the procedure.  Basically though,  if you do it right,  you import the object and it'll be selected and FLOATING.  Depending on how you DEFLOAT it,  it'll either sit on top of your existing ground OR be dug in or be way too tall.  If it doesn't look right try another option.  Play with it and this'll all make sense to you.  If you can't get it post back and I'll figure out how to make it happen.

If memory serves you need to save your PS object as a bitmap or bmp?

A great feature in Leveller is the add and subtract functions.  You can take 2 heightmaps and combine them into one by adding or subtracting their heights.  So say for example you had a nice hilly terrain with a long corner which gradually sweeps down the hill, and you wanted a consistent berm on the outside of the corner.  You can make that berm on a flat terrain in the same location that it would be on the hilly terrain, and them combine the 2.

As Leveller doesn't have a layering system like photoshop, this is the next best thing really.
