Title: Terrain Contour lines Issue?
Post by: Tarot on October 15, 2015, 12:52:41 AM
Hey guys, newbie to track making here.

I'm trying to make a track with terrain- all said and done so far that has been easy- But importing it into Reflex or Digital Earthworks, suddenly the contour lines become ridiculous. Is there a way to smooth down/make them less noticeable? They are a bit excessive and makes the track unridable.

If I understood everything correctly then( when your working with ps) blur them and/turn the opacity of the layer a bit down until it looks good dor you. What scaling did you even use?

Not using PS, but can blur/change opacity with paint.net.

In Digital Earthworks I'm using 100

EDIT: That doesn't make any noticeable change besides smoothing jumps into lumps.

After you create your height map, are you first putting the file through "VeiwDispMap"? This program smooths the terrain, getting rid of sharp points in the terrain. Then you can import it into DE.
