Title: Track Elevation
Post by: hurrenmx on August 10, 2015, 08:42:46 PM
okay so im trying to make Baja acres which is my home track here in Michigan and a large portion of the track is on higher elevation, but its hard to have a pure white hill because you can add anything to the track when the height map is pure white, I don't use leveler or anything but im wondering if theres a different way of doing this in photoshop. I have a link to a video of the track so you guys understand what im talking about. ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-UBfqyHv75I ) ill try to post a pic of the photoshop pic of the track if I figure out out to add an image lol

make the top @ 80-95% white (depending on how much more height you need for the track on top of the hill),
you would need to readjust the initial settings when importing the map to adjust for the changes

You could start with almost a 100% Black background, possibly 70-80%, so then you would have more play room for altering the tracks jumps and other elevation. eg. You would only have to make the highest part of the elevation around 50-70%, so theres still room for adding gradient.
