Title: Converting .VCR files for editing?
Post by: VET_SPODEBOY on August 01, 2015, 03:24:31 PM
I have looked high and low for a converter so I can edit .VCR files to make MCM2 movies. I have had real bad luck finding anything. Does anyone know where I can find one?
Greatly appreciated.

You should find something  interesting there : http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/free-dvd-video-software-download.htm
Just be care with the installation, some additional stuffs can be installed,
just install the programs you need, not the ads, I use some of those sotwares since some years, I'm still happy.

I also use the latest Windows Movie Maker for the basic stuffs and then Cyberlink Power Director for a cool design.

At MCM2Revival.com you can find the full Fraps program  ;)

The .vcr files from MCM2 can't be converted, you must start the recorded race (ingame) and launch a video screen recorder at the same moment, then edit the recorded video.
If someone else have another solution, please post it.

Install Mcm2VCRreg is a thing that helps when we want record videos from mcm2 , it gives more controls when we see mcm2 vcr videos.

Mcm2VCRreg.zip  just works with xp tho.

For windows 7 64x need to be:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Motocross Madness 2
AllowVCRControls
dword:00000001

Mcm2VCRreg.zip Download (http://download1321.mediafire.com/zbp4cdsvtutg/v8wkzh9j7udm61p/Mcm2VCRreg.zip)

JP, can you tell me where and how I modify those settings ?
I'm an old W7 addict but now I'm running W10, the ways are still the same to modify stuffs into the registry, but I don't remember well the HOW TO.
Now, I know why there are no new stuffs in my vcr viewer after installing the vcrReg lol. I was thinking I was crazy, one more time.

In fact, another news, Fraps won't run anymore with (my) W10 (black screen problem, issue found on Google and I was too lazy to fix it), so I installed Bandicam (available at MCM2R) ans here is what I can do (with the help of PowerDirector) :

https://youtu.be/y-idVZfLK8I  ;D

I still have some problems with the 4:3 video size, programs from now don't have a lot of settings for this format, they are all made for 16:9 etc. with HD features ... like Youtube also.

That's the result with the program from DVD Video Soft : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YolffwXywB4 I'm not happy at all  ::)

DENnis posted another link at MCM2R, here it is ... http://ezvid.soft112.com/download.html (I never tested it but here is his result : https://youtu.be/NS7hXVpGxzE )

Open the Registry Editor (search for regedit.exe)
Go to :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Motocross Madness 2
Create a new DWORD and name it :
AllowVCRControls
Then double click on it or modify and add :
1

For W10 , try search where mcm2 is in the Registry Editor .
