Title: Bike- settings / tuning
Post by: WRATHCHILD31 on March 03, 2015, 11:06:43 PM
Today I set all the bike settings in reflex back to standart and installing the stock bike parts again. When I tried it out in race it feels like nothing really change on the bike physics. Holeshot, same lap times, no problem to getting all the lines...
Now I'm not sure: did this tuning stuff really change that much (or anything at all?!) on the bike physics in game or is it more just for fun? What do you think? And if you tune your bikes, which bike settings do you like to use for which terrain situation (SX, MX sand / MX mud...)?

I'm looking forward to your replies and some interesting discussion :)

PEACE!

I only race supercross, nationals are a bit too fragile in terms of FPS drops for me. I personally typically run my bikes to be able to deal with rough terrain and also have more top speed than acceleration by about one bar. That way, when I'm in those full lobbies and the whole track is destroyed on the second lap, I'm able to still use the race lines and keep up momentum, and have the speed to clear the jumps. And my acceleration is still high enough that if I f*** up I am able to get a rhythm back. Steering is normal but brakes are on fast. It's personal preference. I know people with the opposite settings of me and still do well, everyone's different. The settings come useful once the race progresses. The first lap nothing is very noticable.

I do notice a difference with the settings,  I find having hard suspension better as soft seems to bounce around all over the place. I mainly have sticky tyres and 1 bar speed over acceleration. I struggle with sand though,  what settings do you run Junk?

Usually I like to put the settings like this for SX:

and like that for Nationals or Freeride, especially if it's sandy, muddy or the ground is really rough and deep:

Ok for sure it changes something if you put the bars in completely opposite direction. But is there a appreciable change between all the different tuning-parts like tires, suspension or exhaust? I'm not sure...

I'll try your settings when I get a chance.  I don't think the parts make any difference although I have tried different tyres but I can't tell any change.
