Title: MCM2 and WIN XP PRo SP3?
Post by: VET_SPODEBOY on March 03, 2015, 08:43:47 PM
First of all thanks in advance..

I am going to try and design a few tracks as a project for some one and need to play MCM2 again and get Dillo2 up and running. It has been 10 years for me so I am having a little trouble in regards to what we did and why with MCM2 install.   I first want to start playing the game again and then get into the track creation.

I have tried to get MCM2 on my WIN XP machine. It loads fine but then crashes as soon as the intro video begins to play.  I am wondering if someone can help me find the right video codecs for win XP?

Also if I remember correctly after install, don't we rename the Motocross Madness 2 folder as MCM2 and stick it directly on on my C drive?  Is this correct and why did we do this?  I forgot.

Thanks again.

Hey Spode

If i remember right the folder had to changed because the 'program file' folder has a spcae in it and some of the track making tools had problems because of that.

As for the crash i'm not too sure, but you could try asking BPh over at MCM2 revival. He is running races so must have it working somehow. www.mcm2revival.com

It's been a while. Isn't it something with a codec.  I think a work around is to remove the video's.

from memory you need less than 2gb ram on your pc and you need to install Indeo® 3.2, 4.5, and 5.11 Codecs. (google it)
