So far so good, My one suggestion would be since Jon is doing an 125 why don't you do the 250f? :)

why not a cr 250 cuz john is making a good looking one and there are no 250s
Title: Re: 2005 Honda CR125R
Post by: cR on October 20, 2004, 08:00:32 PM
Well to make it a 250 it just needs a skin change  :P And it's also for my GTA:VC total conversion mod (will probably become for GTA:SA).

Btw, I uploaded a new vid same name so use the link above... not much changed just wheels, felt like rendering it  :P

i guess you dont ride for real? ?    if ya did you would know that the engiine is bigger, but yes a skin would cover that,    but the exhaust is totaly diferent on a 250 and thats pritty much it.

@ DBR_Dodgy, I don't.. not anymore...  :'( but those are things I don't think you'll really notice ingame, but I can make for example 2 models of the exhaust + 2 skins on each skin the other exhaust is just pinked out, same whit the engine etc. I was planning to use this for different bar pads and stuff..

Anyways, can someone take a pics of a CR from the front, back and top and left side? Year doesn't matter really, as long as I have a good view on the dimensions and shapes of the bike. (YZ, KX, RM and SX are welcome to for next projects...)

not to take this thread COMPLETELY off topic, but IMO I love riding the 250f.  I have a crf myslef.  But there is NOTHING like riding a 125.  250 could fall off the face of the earth for all I care, but 125 is the funnest bike ever made. :)

The wheels are temporary, there about 2500 polys each, GTA handled it fine but I think MCM2 can't...

Gonna put some more work in it today.

I'll keep these high poly wheels but i'll delete 50% of the knobs, will save alot of polygons...

Here's a in-Max shot with different views,

Title: Re: 2005 Honda CR125R
Post by: cR on December 20, 2004, 02:13:08 PM
Still working on that part, the art renderer allmost works, some bugs saving the tga file, exporting to SLT works for a small bit, if it's done i'm gonna work on the importer. I had a converter that did SLT to LWO (Lightwave format) but it sucks going trough 2 programs to get it back into 3d Max.

(If someone still has a .SLT bike model that came with the first release of BikeSwitcher please send it to me)

Hmmm I managed to get a bike in MCM2 last night but you need one of the earlier bikeswitchers for it, but when I tried the same bike but with the YZ body it gets *#*#*ed up...but I think I know why tho...

Edit: Hmm got it allmost working now...its the right size etc. but my pivot resets on export resulting the seat just sticking out of the ground...  :-X

Edit: Jiiiihaaaaa :D it works, the YZ looks goooood in MCM2, ill post some pics later on!

Post by: flap on December 28, 2004, 11:01:46 AM
bike looks sweeet bro, just one thing. The rear fender is to long, and you have to make that litle pointy edge that the YZ has... thats really important, and oh yeah model a low seat inside the regular seat (so we can just pink out the regular one for freestyle) and model the airbox to, so we can cut grabbers.. would be sick bro! Sick!" looks damn good so far tho!

Title: Re: 2005 Honda CR125R
Post by: flap on December 29, 2004, 12:50:23 PM
yeah man it matches the sides but find a pic from the top or behind or something and wou will see.. thats why it looks to long to, because the pointy part is missing :)  i hope we get to have long fenders on the FMX version to tho?

ill try and find some pics for you when im on my other computer..  got msn?

Title: Re: 2005 Honda CR125R
Post by: metal_miracle on December 29, 2004, 02:16:39 PM
Cr why not do as i was working on a air box you can use pink to cut it whit a airfilter inside,,  i also did try to use dual seat smaller seat inside the big seat.. but the main reason for me no working on it is that the fornt fork just dissapear..

both me and extreme did try finding what was worng whit the forks i made..

but i think that yz look super good but hope you go the same route as i did and make it as combi bike..
Title: Re: 2005 Honda CR125R
Post by: cR on December 29, 2004, 02:19:54 PM
I wanted to do that for a while now, but I think a race and fmx version would be better, but with some things like fatbars etc. you could pink out... or better to use 32bit TGA since then you can have antialiased edges for shrouds etc.

(I gotta go now but you guys made me startup Max :P hehe)

Edit: Is this more like it? Meybe a bit rounded to much?

(http://img28.exs.cx/img28/2084/screen0013ch.th.jpg) (http://img28.exs.cx/img28/2084/screen0013ch.jpg)

(I know the front fender sucks, and the steer is to thin, allready got a thicker one laying around to mount on it  :P)

cR can you give me some insight on plusses or minuses with MAX 7, or if anything is different, better, whatever...in english lol. I'm still using 5.1 for some reason...it works out for everything I use it for but im just curious. Let it rip...

Well I'm in love with it  ;D Dunno what to say about it, interface is great, edit poly feature is very good for modeling, check out www.discreet.com and try the trial version  ;D

colin, i use 6 and i think its good enough. i have yet to try 7. I went from being on max3.1 for about 4 months to max6 and i personally dont like the layout on 6. Its hard to set everything. Altho the renders are nice and editing the mesh and pollys are nice. i dont like the layout. nd i couldnt get some objects from max 6 to work in 3.1 . I had to make then 3ds for them to work in 3.1. Idk just my inpout on 6. i know you were asking about 7. but i thought u might wanna know and if anyone else would like to know . peace

Max 7 hasn't changed as much from 6... well not the UI but tools are more powerfull etc. And it does suck getting objects to an older version since you have to export to .3ds first and if you have multiple objects on a mesh then it sux reaplying them.

Mind if i hijack your thread?

Been working on this for a few months now, and over the past week or so ive been really motivated to finish it.

UVW mappping and fitting all the parts on to a single skin has taken alot of hours, but its all finally starting to come near completion.

I know theres still things messed up on this i still have to fix, ill get around to them.

The shrouds kinda came out retarded, but i dont have the energy to completely remake them.

This is what the skin looks like, to put some perspective of why it takes to damn long, it's still pretty messy atm, and i still have stuff to add, like a rear disk and stuff to fix up.
Hope Jon doesn't mind me mutilating his skin :p

Ill release a .psd with this if i ever get it done, showing what all the parts do on the skin.

Thats been 100% done for a long time, i just got fed up asking Andrew to pack it one last time ( my own fault really, there was a faullt on the last version he packed for me and he'd aleady packed it 3 times before, but they didnt turn out right).
I sent it to someone to get it ready for packing so Andrew wouldnt have to do so much about 2 weeks ago, but i havnt heard back since.
It's not as well modled as this one (crf) but it still looks good in game.
