Title: Ati compatibility for earthworks editor?
Post by: MADMAN855 on April 17, 2012, 12:25:35 AM
I have just downloaded and installed earthworks, (as administrator) When I opened it or the first time, it gave me an error and brought up the earthworks help page, which directed me to Nvidia's driver download page. I have an XFX ATI/Radeon 5870 gpu.... I Google searched "ATI Nvidia Driver conflicts", and proceeded to read one horror story after another. Has anyone installed the Nvidia software that is linked in the earthworks help page over their ATI drivers? On the Nvidia site, under products>Nvidia software>game developer tools, there are some individual programs...would it be possible to just get the specific software needed from here without actually installing Nvidia drivers?....Just a guess..... Any help or reassurance would be greatly appreciated.

PC specs;
Windows 7 pro 64 bit
AMD Phenom II X2 550 Black edition cpu unlocked to quad core (B50 X4) @4.1Ghz ;D
Corsair H70 liquid cooler
Asus M4A88TD-V evo/usb3 Xtreme design motherboard
8GB Kingston HyperX DDR3 1600 ram
XFX Radeon HD5870 GPU

The software that DE is directing you to is not a video driver, it's the PhysX driver - which is a physics engine. I have an ATI card on my desktop and it doesn't interfere with it at all, but maybe other people might have had a different experience.
