Title: Reflex compiler 1.09 - Cant launch my test tracks.
Post by: vappling on December 24, 2011, 03:19:00 PM
I made a test disp map and some textures, then i compile the track and saves it to the beta slot for testing, but i cant launch it ingame. The track doesnt exist. Kicks me back to my desktop. (like free beta slots).

Are you seeing the Beta slots in the game?  If you are then it is most likely you have the wrong format file as one of your textures.    You also might not have the track in the correct folder.  The editor might be seeing your Steam folder somewhere other then the location you are really running it from.

Oh god, im retarded.

Story: I installed MvA reflex on a diffrent location. I copied it to steamapps because the compiler told me to. And i made my test track and saved it. Launched the desktop icon but i didnt launch the new reflex copy..

That can be caused by several things, but you need to get the right scale.  Basically your track is too tall.  Your disp map needs to be an 8 bit gray scale or a 24 bit povray.  If you dispmap is the correct file format then you need to try different scale values.  Don't be afraid to use 100 or more.  It's hard to explain what the correct value is.  It really depends on the range of gray that you used in your displacement map versus how tall you want that to be in the game.
