i want to add my own sound to a track where do i put the .wav so as D2 can open it?
In your' MCM2\TrackEditor\UserModels' folder you will need to make a new folder called 'Audio' - put it in there.
Laurie
hi i found out that you cant convert or save a wav in mediaplayer i found out if i was to add sounds i had to use winamp to save it as wav or convert form mp3 as in my case
using your own sounds can be real tricky.
The best thing I've found to use is Db Power Amp and music converter.
Even wav sounds that are already in the right format (16-bit, 22khz MONO), don't always work. Sometimes it helps to convert these sounds, even if they say they are the right format.
thats why i use winamp
Ok, but why can't I put a full song on a track like on "Mission Impossible" ?
My song file is already a WAV, 22Khz, 16bit, mono but he is 4.14Mb big and 21kb/s or something like that.
When I put the file on the track with Dillo2 (min1 & max600), I listen a short preview before placing the file, when I move in Dillo2, I listen the full song and when I race the track in the game, I listen only a preview of some seconds, not the full version. I have already put down the quality of the song, the file was 1.20Mb, nothing have changed (only baddest sound lol).
So, where is my error and thks for ur future explanations...
Phil. ;)
I think MCM2 limits the size and length of wav files that can be used in a track. Other people have tried this and nobody i know of has succeeded. I'm afraid i don't know the answer to this one and like i said i'm not even sure it is possible - you can experiment with it and see what happens, maybe someone else who has tried can comment, and don't forget to post here what you find out.
Edit: Just realized that wasn't your track that you posted, you'll have to try and contact the creator of Mission Impossible to see how he got it to work.
Laurie
motoman aka 51 made mission impossible, so he's still around. And bigtwista put low rider in the track lucky strike, and there was that superbowl or something sx track with I think pantera or motorhead playin. Not sure who made that though? But it has been done a few times, probably more than those examples.
Thks guys, I have sent a personal message to Fifty)(One, I'm waiting his visit in this thread...
Phil.
ok off hand i don't remember exactly what i did to get it how it is in Mission Impossible. Let me look through some cd's and see if i can find the creation files and go from there. also i did this before D2 was avaliable and used APM 1.0. By all means try to do it with D2 if that is easier but if it's not working out right you might want to try just adding it in with APM 1.1. I actually used the adding sound tutorial here [TD] to get my base start. I'll get back to you when i find the project files and the song file. Hang in there.
***edit***
i reread your post again and the problem might not be the file but your min/max settings and where you actually place the sound on the grid. Do some trial/error tests like start the track and sit in the spot where you hear the music and see if it plays all the way through. You could just possibly be "riding away" from the sound and sometimes it is abrupt. also about the quality. if its horrible its useless. you are going to just have to eat the extra MB if you want it to sound ok. MI came to a whopping 12.1MB which is actually fine with me but you know the dialuppers are gonna whine.
Mmm fine for your reply. My last test was with APM, I have changed the numbers (80/1000) and it runs too (i listen the song where i want to listen it) but allways the same problem, i heard only 5 seconds of the song than the looping sound restart. Strange...
I need to know all the settings of the sound (song) file than I'll see where is my error (I hope lol).
I want to do some other tracks with all what i can do and only u can help me and some other creators of the MCM2 community who have the same problems. If u want, i can send the original mp3 somewhere... or give the link.
Thks in advance and one more time, congrat for ur track "Mission Impossible".
Phil.

No answer after 15 days...
sorry man ive been really busy...let me know if you still need info or whatever.
Yeah lol I dont have resolved the problem. All what I can listen, its a short preview of the song and I need to know the details of a song who works in a track. Maybe can you transform the file for me, than I can see where is my error. Take for example this song : http://www.next-stop-earth.com/Jam.mp3
Let me know when u have transformed the file and when he will be ready to put in a track with APM or Dillo2.
Thks in advance, I'm a little busy yet too.
