Title: MX vs. ATV Reflex
Post by: Bulldog on May 15, 2009, 04:42:02 PM
Looks like Rainbow will be releasing another console MX game this holiday season.  It looks like it will have some cool new features including dual stick control for a "independently controlled rider" and "real-time terrain deformation".

Unfortunately no PC version.....not that I expected them to release one....but it would be nice.   :P

bulldog, i just heard about this today, and searched about it, and came straight here.. looks like it could be a great game, but the no pc deal is killing me..

I bought untamed for ps3, done 2 laps and put it away in storage... :( i hope this one can keep me entertained a bit longer.. and i hope for a good supercross type season mode in this also..

fingers crossed its been rebuilt for the better.

Ryann,

From what I seen and heard, Reflex is very promising. A lot more promising than Untamed ever was in any case.

As Ryann said, Untamed was good fun for like a month, maybe two, and just gets boring. There wasn't really a challenge factor in Untamed. They said it would have a steep learning curve. But for most vets around here, including myself, coming from MCM1 and following the whole MX game industry.. Untamed was a piece of cake to master. Just too arcade and too stiff.

Reflex looks a lot more dynamic and challenging. Seeing you have to control both your bike and your rider! I'm looking forward to giving this system a shot.

I do have to admit though that I was kind of annoyed by the following they implemented: When you make a hard impact and you are going to crash. A arrow appears pointing in a direction. If you lean into this direction fast enough you'll save yourself from crashing. I'm not sure how this is going to work. But I can see this being easily abused.

Ryann,

Good to see you're still around and checking in here.

I'm still not a console gaming guy.....I still prefer the PC.  But I guess the consoles aren't going anywhere any time soon so I'll have to deal with that reality.

Hopefully in Reflex they will have some way to make custom tracks on a PC and transfer them to the console for download by others.  I doubt it though because then there would be no reason for them to release a new game every year.   ::)

Hey guys, long time since I have been on here. but it seems everyone comes back at some point. I am pretty pumped about Reflex,  something that interest me was in an interview ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYWgVC_fgGQ ) he says he wants to bring back the mcm online community. how do you guys think they will accomplish this? here is what i am hoping for.
-weekly races
-Team support
-track editor    armadillo 360 ha never
-a good ranking system with ranked matches

who knows. but anyways hope all is well.

I to came here to see what folks are thinking for this game.  We need a PC version so bad, but I don't see one in the future for us.  I think reflex will be another disappointment.  I think their trying to copy Motorstorm, may be a fun game for a couple months, but that's all I'm expecting.  :-\
