hey guys.....
Some of you might remember me as VDR_KAW503. I was racing online about every friggin' night for about 5 years strait. Anyways....I came across some "un-marked" cd's the other day , that have a ton of tracks on them. I then called my little brother Josh ( VDR_JUGHEAD503) and he said he had found 11 more CD's chalked full of tracks too. I'm going to be getting them from him , and making one huge library of tracks. I am then going to put them onto a couple DVD's and wanted to mail them to Madmac over at MCM factory , so he can get them uploaded to his server.
I tried emailing him through the madmac@gmail.com address he has on the site , but i just did that this morning. I don't have all that much spare time to upload possibly a 1000-1500 tracks , so i want to send them to him.
I was just wondering , if the guys here at TD might like a couple copies as well? I'd send you guys a couple copies of all my tracks and you can upload them here is you have server space.
I would have done this sooner , but i JUST found these cd's yesterday. Not even sure exactly which ones i have , or how many. I do ahve quite a few of the tracks on the "missing nationals" list over on MCM factory though.
HEY....i think i possibly have this one track , ( my favorite) called "HAIR OF THE DOG" and i think either TNT_Shovelhead or TNT_Gravy made it. IF i don't have it , do any of you other guys have it? I loved that friggin' track!
And does VRT_Tomato still post here at all? gary....if you see this....What's up my brotha!!??!!??
Great to hear from ya Kawi, There are some sites still active in mcm2, MDXracing.com, etc, I know Bruce (AMA DirtTwister) grabbed alot of tracks, not sure where they are though.
VRT is still around at http://www.bluescreations.net/e107/news.php and Yes, VRT_Tomato is still around, he mostly hangs out at http://www.misfitstoyshop.com/forum/index.php
Team VRT and MDX recently had a MCM2 reunion, had a small turn out of 25 racers, but was still fun.
Thanks Rideblue....good to see you again! Don't know if you remember me or not. I still have quite a few of your tracks i found too. I just took all my "found" tracks tonight , and i have 626 nationals , 111 SX tracks and 20 "unknown" tracks. I wasn't sure where to unzip them into the terraform , so i'll play with those later.
quick question......I have been gone so long , that i guess i need a "TD High RES" file? They had already started getting the high res tracks and bikes out before i quit playing , and i was able to play them. But for reason , i can't find the file now. Where the heck can i download this here on this site? Also.....maybe i'm going blind , but what happened to all the tracks that we're converted from MX vs ATV? weren't there a bunch of those?
Anyways....i have about 750 or so track , without even getting my brothers CD's back. I'm hoping i find a lot of the good old tracks. It looks like the last one i downloaded was on 10-24-03. I download a ton more after that date , but lost all of those when the HD went belly up on my computer.
I'm gonna go install some of the old greats and have some fun tonight...WOOHOO!
BTW....i found the "hair of the dog" track...the file was called "hotdog2"....knew i'd find it.
I remember ya bud, mdxracing.com has alot of tracks too, along with a recorder etc, racing rooms too.
Here is the TD downloads http://www.twisteddirt.com/tddownloads.php
why not make a torrent of the tracks
hey MM...i would gladly do that , except i don't have any kind of a torrent program on this computer. I haven't quite got the Torrent" thing down yet , or how to use the damn thing. BUT....i'm glad you posted here , because you we're the next person i was going to get a hold of. I visited and registered over at MDXR the other day , and saw that you guys had a ton of new stuff over there. So , i was going to write you as well , and see if you wanted some DVD copies of all my older tracks as well? I think between this place , MDXR and MCM Factory , you guys have almost all the ones i have , but at least you can cross refferance them to make sure.
Since i haven't played this game in a few years , it amazes me that all this new stuff came out. New bike models and such....i didn't know this game was still kicking like this. I was around when TD released the High res CRF 450 bike , but until a couple days ago , i didn't know you had created even more bike models.
I can't get them and some of the other things to work yet. I have the TD high res Global and Eco files installed , but i don't know what to do , to get any of this new stuff going. I'm missing something , and since it was all common knowledge a few years ago , nobody ever talks about it on the forums....makes it almost impossible to figure out what i need to do.
Anyways... MM....if you want to shoot me an email at huber7740@comcast.net , i will get you all the tracks i have as well. I'm still waiting on my brother to come over so i can grab all his tracks as well.....then i'll burn the DVD's and get them sent off.
Jeff !!!!! Whats up my friend ?? Man its been forever hasn't it ? This is my first post over here in years , haven't played any MCM2 in ages man, wouldnt even know where my damn joystick is ?? Guess I'll need to go look it up!! Life is good right now Jeff...Hows Washington?
Hey gary!! dude , it's so good to hear from you! I was hoping i would run into you again some day. i figured the MCM2 game would lure most of us out of the cave at sometime. I'm like you , i hadn't played in about 4 years or so. I then lost a hard drive on my computer , and lost a huge amount of my favorite tracks. I have been on a mission this past week or so , and have found , and am still finding a ton of all my old favorites....That's includes a few of your man! You got really , really good at making tracks Gary!
Well......long story , put shortly. I was riding and racing pretty hard core all the way up until 2-1/2 years ago. I had a pretty bad wreck with another rider , and spent almost two weeks in the hospital with punctured lungs , and about 30 broken bones. I did ride again after that ( even before the doctor released me) but it messed up my head a little to....mentally anyways. When i got back on the track , i was a little gun shy , and always wanted to know where everyone was at.
The wreck i had , wasn't really my fault. I was running a really big indoor arena cross track for about 3-1/2 years , called "hindsight MX" , for the same guys i worked for , for years in construction. I helped build the building , and brought in all the dirt , and made all the tracks. I trained kids and adults the sport of MX , and even had a ton of kids i trained i n private lessons at the track.
back to the wreck : a guy i knew from idaho which turned pro a few years before i met him , came over to ride. he had been telling me how fast he had gotten since the last time we raced together at washougal. He had been talking a bunch of smack , so i invited him up to a special Hindsight MX night. I built the track pretty knarly , with some big 70' triples and so forth. well...he showed up , nervous as hell , and wasn't talking smack any more HAHA!!
he watched me practice for about an hour before he decided to come out. And when he did the dumb s.o.b. went backwards down the start strait , and we hit HEAD ON! We we're both 2nd gear pinned. It was i a weird part of the track that you couldn't see each other coming from either direction. I had just cleard the big triple in the middle , landed with the gas ON hard , and took this big sweeper corner out wide ( the first turn going the other way) and he had been coming down the start strait backwards completely pinned. There we're people chasing after him , to get him to stop , but he said he couldn't hear them.
i did over $2500.00 worth of damage to my 450 ( which the track owned but let me ride and race it). Bent the front forks , smashed the front wheel to almost flat , and pushed the radiators clean through the 6" gap on the spar frame.
damn it...i even lost about 1" off my left middle finger HAHA!!
BUT.....good news is , i just got done riding a buddies 08' YZF 450 for 3 weeks. I am out of riding shape , but by the end of the 3 weeks , i don't feel like i lost any speed , just my endurance , and i don't really feel gun shy at all! i fell really good! So.....i think i may get another 450 this spring. maybe going back to the kaws , and looking at the new KXF450.
hey....one more thing though. since i took all that time off from MX , i found a new hobby that really , really enjoy! It's a friggin blast , and i'm gettin' pretty good at it....RC airplanes! i know , i know , sounds kind of gay , but listen. I have some airplanes from 89" wingspan , up to 123" wingspan. 50cc to 170cc motors using 32" props on the front. I'm into the 3D type flying and whip the crap out of an airplane. It's the only hobby i have ever done that takes my mind away from racing. If you ever want to check a site out that has everything to know about big RC aircraft , check this site out >>>> http://www.flyinggiants.com/ . I practically live there!
Anyways gary..... hey , if you ever want to shoot the sh!t , my email is huber7740@comcast.net. Shoot me an email , and i'll send you some pics of my big birds i'm working on. i have some good indoor racing/practice pics on my 450 as well at Hindsight MX.
Good hearing from you Bro!
Jeff
Holly hell thats a crazy crash story. Glad to hear you are ok man. The same with me, I stopped playing MCM2 after the MSN gaming zone shut down, I just couldnt get into gamespy etc, was not the same the way the chat rooms were setup etc. I would love to see this game make a comeback. Most fun to play game ever.
