Title: Bale skin problems
Post by: yzmxer608 on July 16, 2008, 09:47:03 PM
I recently made some skins for a bale.  They were all done so I went into dillo2 to see what they looked like and to take the art file picture (I was making them for mcm2 and I would eventually convert them for MvA) But some of them looked like this:

Only some of them look like that.  At first I thought it was the template that I made for the bale skin but that wouldn't explain why only some of them look like that.  So then I thought maybe it has to do with the logos being the same width as the bale, so I reskinned one that wasn't working and tried that idea, it didn't work.  I was going to completely give up and delete all of the files but I thought I would post it here to see if anyone else can help me.  Here is the bale template and bale model in case someone needs to see what they look like for further investigation.

i'm not sure what i'm looking at, is this the _art file or is this the texture?

If it's the _art file how do you take the pictures?

If it's the texture it's possible that you have some alpha layer in the TGA somwhere that is making it come out transparent in the final texure?

I'm afraid it's been a while since i worked with MCM2 so i am probably forgetting something important.

I can't look at the template right now since  i don't have winRAR at work so i'll take a look tonight.

PS for UE2 users, if you put the _art files in the same folder as your custom models in UE2 they will show up in the UE2 preview window at the botom of the Resources tab..

That is a screenshot from dillo2 of the bale, so it is the texture.  I will go and look to see if there is an alpha layer on any of the skins.

I was thinking about doing that for UE2, thanks for confirming it :)
