Title: Track Pic Error
Post by: Gamergull on July 18, 2007, 11:03:34 PM
Is there any way that I can get or export a 16-bit .tga? All I have is MS Paint and TGAConverter. For my custom track, I tried using a normal .tga pic for the track ID pic (for the track selection screen), and it got messed up.

I hope that this is the correct forum to post in :/ .

Yes you posted in the right forum...thanks for that!

You need a full-fledged graphic editor such as Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, Corel Draw, or GIMP. Gimp is free...so if you haven't got one yet because you don't want to spend the money...then check out www.gimp.org. You have to use a 16-bit Targa image for an MCM2 track pic...no way around that to my knowledge.

I hope this answers your question and puts you on the right path.

You can also make a primitive Screen shot in D2, using the camera button on the main tool bar. It allows you to add a header graphic and a logo but that's about it, but it does produce the 16bit TGA which you can also export, and packs it with the track..

Ok, thanks for the help :) . I'll probably get Gimp because I already bought MilkShape 3D and my parents don't want me to go on any crazy spending sprees  :-X . I'll also try D2 (hopefully, I'll be patient with the lag).
