Title: tration map or other thing.
Post by: VRT_JPRLisbon_ on May 06, 2007, 05:27:34 PM
i have tryed alot tractions in mcm2 and some of them are very usefull in the right places ,  but im looking for something diferent , is possible have a traction map that put off the preload , in other words that make the preload dont work  ?

Im building some realistic tracks and this type of traction that puts off the preload would be nice to use in some places , if thats not possible i have to work  on the terrain.

It's been a while, but i think that you can only control the friction, applying extra slowing or slowing accelaration and sideways sliding. That doesn't give you any control over pre-load. I think Bruce played with these settings a little to try and reduce pre-load but i don't remember what the result was. I think if you can slow the rider coming up to a lip it helps a little, but the friction settings don't have much effect above 30mph (50kph) so it wasn't very helpful..

Yeah Laurie said it right...there's no way to control preload through a traction map. The best idea that most good trackmakers use to control preload is bumps or simply putting a dip just before the jump so that the suspension unloads before you reach the lip thus limiting preload. This also works by the way in MVA.
