Title: XP SP2
Post by: AMA_DirtTwister on September 10, 2004, 03:09:25 PM
The other SP 2 thread sort of got polluted with an IE vs the world discussion.   I figured I would start this thread to actually discuss XP SP2 issues.  I have installed SP2 on my main workstation and have not encountered any problems (yet). :)

I am creating another thread to discuss alternative browsers.

I still don't know much about it lol. NM found some info on it at the MS page. Kinda sketchy about installing it though after all the bad things I've heard.

I've had i for a few weeks with not a hiccup. The new pop-up blocker works pretty sweet to and I'm not having any game related issues either.

I havent installed sp2 as yet , basically as i dont like installing anything MS releases for a month or 3 after release date,, as they do like to use the public as beta testers, for products that they say are final..

Some issues i have heard/read about are basics with any program that is beefing up your security.. ie faliure with certain p2p programs running correctly also programs like CLONE CD are not working also... but as normal it takes a few weeks for ms or the other application ppl to set out a workaround..

So maybe you could say it causes more problems in short term but in long term will be great, but of course it all depends what you are using your pc for :)
