Title: mozilla.org re-design finaly released...
Post by: MotoX395 on September 01, 2004, 12:24:35 PM
Just wanted to drop by and say that http://mozilla.org/ have finally been redesigned...

I like it more and more ever since I tested the beta version of it some month ago.

Since my wonderful firefox/mozilla-in-general thread so shamefully got lost in the crash of this place I thought I could dedicate the next line to a link to the best browser on the web at the moment...

http://mozilla.org/products/firefox/

A new pre-release is out ( 0.9.3 ) and the default theme has once again changed to the ( imho ) way better.

If you are unsure why to even bother about firefox when you have "trusty" IE installed on your pc/mac then read here, http://switch2firefox.com/ or just look at this http://insanecats.com/firebird/

I use opera too but only for testing websites in it. I will never pay to use opera without silly and sometimes ugly ads when I can get firefox/mozilla for free with the same functionality.

If opera was completely free then good chances is that I would use that instead. If you feel like paying 45 bucks for a browser OR don't simply mind a little add then I can highly recommend opera. It is a great browser too.

http://mozilla.org/products/firefox/
http://mozilla.org/products/mozilla1.x/
http://opera.com
http://apple.com/safari/

Those above is the 4 recommended browsers of the web, I use them all for testing sites with and I can say that all of them are really good. The only browser I use for normal surfing (like now) is firefox tough but that's a personal preference.

If something is more dangures then browsing the web with Internet explorer then it has to be receiving mails with Outlook. http://mozilla.org/products/thunderbird/ is what I use myself, if you use outlook a lot then try that for a day or two and see if you like it.

Sorry I don't mean to keep bumping this thread up but I have one last source to add here...

http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp

If you look at the stats there (they have been futured on slashdot.com so it is a trustable source) you will see that now days there is 15% browser usage share on mozilla, Mozilla is not a silly underground thing or something that is strange anymore, it is just something better. Also if you look at other browsers stats they move up and perhaps then down a bit and up again. Mozilla have ever since it entered the top list just been growing and never loosing. That to me seams like most people trying Mozilla stay with it. Also if you look you will see that all other browsers then Opera 7.xx (O 7) and Mozilla (moz) are loosing users constantly now.

Now, this shall hopefully be my last post in this thread, I'll let this one slowly shrink down into the archives now. Thanks :)

well i am more than happy with firefox, for the last 3 or 4 months ive been using it ive had zero spy or adaware found by spybot search and destroy, not one pop up and the browser seems faster than what i remember IE being.
theres only one place i have to use IE for that is to sign in on the zone (MS) to race.

Ian.
