Title: mxu files
Post by: smkenjo1 on February 16, 2006, 11:48:31 PM
Hey everyone,
I just joined up ......great job on all the tracks for MCM2 I have enjoyed them. I have moved on to mx vs atv unleashed. I started building my very first track ever and it made me appreciate the work of really good track editors even more. My track was *#*#* compared to everyone else so I scraped it. There are a lot of people making tracks that really shouldn't!!!! Any way I have been playing around with MXU files using hex editors, texpad editor, .PAK file viewers and I HAVE GONE BLIND ...lol. I thought it would be a bit easier to modify (changing script or hex) certain parts like bike graphics for 500 and so on and so forth. Seams the only thing I have been able to do is unlock bikes in the (common.pak) file...like KTM and so on, but nothing for 500cc bikes. I am a newbie on this stuff but it interests me greatly what is needed to view graphics of the bike models? Are you guys working on this already? What software package would I need, to maximize opening these files? I have been told to C++ is that correct? I need a mentor...I have to much time on my hands.....lol.... and ive learned a lot already on my own. Like I said im a newbie but interested any direction would be appreciated. IM AOL smkenjo11, MSN smkenjo1
thanks

To answer one of your questions someone on central said they had managed to open the graphics, and are currently creating a template. That was right after release though, I doubt it was true. If anyone HAS figured it out it would definitely be TD.
