Title: VIDEO - MCM 2 - 32" LCD TV / monitor - OMG!
Post by: AMA_King on December 09, 2005, 05:38:59 AM
VIDEO - MCM 2 - 32" LCD TV & monitor - OMG!   :o
===========================================

I am goofy ::) but THIS IS COOL!  ;D
The video says it all...

===========================================

This will only be online until I hit my bandwidth limits!

Video = 320 x 240 @ 12 MB:
http://troysweb.com/mcm/mcm2_v1_dial-up.zip

*This DOES NOT do the LCD TV justice!
- the jitters are from the *.mpg encoding
- the game runs smooth as heck!

EDIT - I made a bigger, better quality *.wmv file!

Video = 640 x 480 @ 77 MB -
http://troysweb.com/mcm/mcm2_v1_broadband_film.zip

PS - the file names are settings I used in my video editing app.
- I am new at this video stuff... it is fun!  Any advice?

JESUS CHRIST.... no wonder so many people break their joysticks.... you guys BEAT the *#*#* out of them!!! hahahaha

Ive had my Precision 2 since the day i bought MCM2, the day it came out LOL. It is still running flawlessly (mind you, it is a little softer now)

I have it set ultra sensative and i bearly have to move the joystick to preload.

Funny video bud  8).

Hey King,

What kind of specs does this LCD monitor have? Any ghosting or jitters? I see one coming my way soon! haha!

Westinghouse LTV-32 w1 - I searched & see some revisions on smaller models
- I didn't find specs RE: the diffs. - I could not find a dot-pitch spec.

It is a PC compatable LCD-TV!  I paid $900 on sale at Best Buy.
Add tax / 2 yr. ex-warrenty and a copy of FLATOUT I spent $1140!
It is only HD ready, but it will show HD from xbox360 - I hardly game on consoles.
EDIT: PGR3 looks almost TOO good to pass up... but will cost me $450+ w/ the x360!
- see some pics here:  http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=983120&page=1&pp=20&highlight=response

It is NOT a high end model, but for SP gaming it ROCKS!
I run the 32" LCD @ 1360x768 @ 75hz  & my 21" CRT @ 1024x768 @ 85hz
- If I don't keep the x768 factor - my desktop icons get all re-arranged!
NOTE: you must have dual outs on your video card (I have 2 DVI out)

Other info:
- 170 degree viewing angle  - 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i HD compat.
- 8ms response time  - 4.3" deep - wall mountable @ 45 pounds
- 60,000 hour lamp / bulb - 1000:1 contrast ratio

Specs PDF:
http://www.solidsignal.com/manuals/32w1-dSheet.pdf

Amazon: SALE - 27" W2= $700 / 30" W2 - $800 / 32" W1 = $1300 (user reviews too)

Yeah, those are sweet. I have an older version of the 56" model (HLN567W) and it can dispay 1920x1080i or 1280x720p. A 1080p set would rock. But MVA still looks awesome on it with the HD XBOX kit.

I've played MCM2 on my 7 foot wide by 4 foot tall projector screen before.

Frankly, it wasn't that much cooler... ::)

Movies and football (drools...football) are more impressive.  I play MXU in HD on that thing too...again, sorta neat at first but that dosen't eliminate the floaty physics of the game...

Sorry guys - You only get a big screen if I win the lotto! ;)

UPDATE:  I loaded new video drivers (Radeon X800 GTO 256)
Maybe I just didn't notice before but I can set the game to 1360x768
- same as the LCD TV's max and it felt even smoother so I turned shadows on and still get 60+ fps!

I've played on a projector too, but the max res. is usally 800x600 or 1024x768.
- games do look pretty pixely at 800x600 x 7'
- did you try cranking up the AA / filtering / other options?
- DVD movies do ROCK on the big screen!

C'mon - sitting 24" or 12' away in your bedroom / office is COOL!
"I" think this is killer for everyday gaming!  I mean REALLY - sitting 30" from the screen in Counter Strike: Source, Flatout, GTR, Far Cry, BloodRayne 2, etc @ 1360 x 768 and getting 60-100+ FPS is JUST TOTALLY COOL!

DVI to DVI - it was a pain to find THAT locally - off the shelf!
- can you say RADIO SCHACK?  I knew you could... Mr. Rogers!

FYI - my PC is DVI input / Tivo DVD Burner = YPbPr - Red Blue Green & Red White (audio) / PS2 = RCA - Yellow Red White

Well King, you got me inspired for sure. I headed to Target and saw the Samsung 940 MW that the xBox 360 Kiosks are sporting and that looked killer. I wanted to head to Best Buy though to check out the Westinghouse model, and that one looks better in person. I'm sorry though, I saw the Samsung 23" LN-R238W model the xBox 360 was sporting there, and that blew my mind.

Looks like I'll be picking up one of those shortly. Best Buy retails them for 899.00, but I've found them online for as low as 645.00. If anyone is interested in this model.. www.Butterflyphoto.com is selling them with a ZERO dead pixel return, which is great!

Anyhow, justthought I'd share.

Alright this is my setup I'm running my PC on.

Mitsubishi 52" DLP 1080p I had the 62" but the wife had no part of it so I exchanged it for the 52". Damn Martha Stewart types.  ;D I'm running with a Nvidia 6800Gt oc 256mb card @ 1920 x1080 with everything on.
Butter smooth averaging 80fps.
THX Polk Audio towers and Polk Audio THX 2 in-walls.
Yamaha receiver  ( I'm getting ready to upgrade to a Dennon receiver with a DVDO upconverter.)
The DVDO with upconvert any signal like a 480i DVD Player to the highest format your TV will handle such as 1080p being there is nothing else to take advantage of it. Really cool piece of equipment for the time being until Full HDTV comes our way men.
Mike

DVDO site check it out if your into Home Theater stuff this thing is cool. http://www.dvdo.com/

I have two Kenwood DV-5900M 400+3 disc CD/DVD changers in my setup. About 600 CDs and 100 DVDs in there currenty. But your setup, wow man! :o Now that is nice. Very clean and comfy looking. I dream of the day I can set up my stuff to look that good. Very cool.

Damn,
You never have to load a cd or movie huh? I need something like that myself. Thanks on the complement. Thats the only room I could haggle out of the wife. It's not the perfect room for a Home Theater setup but it works on. I'm thinking about adding on down the road and have a room put in that is your typical rectangular shape and making it the family room. I'll be saving for awhile but I'll get there. It's cool seeing what everyone uses around here.

What an awesome setup there Mike! I can just see the wife strolling in to watch an episode of Dr. Phil and you have MCM2 cranked on that thing! Oh man, what an experience.   ;D

More importantly, you have a warm and comfortable looking room.
