Title: Armadillo Problem (no ground?)
Post by: 4130BMX on August 30, 2005, 05:41:40 AM
Hey guys,  Ive been messing with an object while waiting for DirtTwister to get me my Disp map back, and I finally got the object to work so I decided to download a few ramps and just see if it is rideable in game.  After placing my object and trying to ride it I thought something looked weird.  and I realized that my object automatically sinks below surface level when I place it,  because when I rode, I could see it below me, and below my other objects,  I also noticed that somehow, there is no ground.  No surface, no anything,  It pretty much just looks like I am flying around on air.

I even Alt+tabbed to show you that the objects get skinned with my rider uniform, but the ground remains invisible.

I use the BMX bike while playing, and when in Dillo, It doesnt appear, and my rider floats on nothing aswell, but that always happens, and the ground problem doesnt.

I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling Dillo, but it didnt help anything.

Last effort was to draw a quick Disp map and import it into dillo, since my previous efforts were on flat ground,  and it was still invisible, which was kinda funny because I would be driving and all the sudden hit a big invisible jump and launch into the air.

Anyways,  heres the pic,  notice how it blends in with the skycube?  I think thats because it is the skycube.   You can see that the FMX ramps are placed on ground level, and you can see underneath them, to the wallride that is half sunken into the ground.

Has this happened to anyone else?  and if so, how do I fix it?

Thanks.

make the project twice.
create a new project (nat, sx or anything). Then just create another one. don't save the first one. The second one will work fine.
You can also put the graphics to Dual pass ( i think) in the game to fix it so it works the first time
