Title: Hi, how are you and etc?
Post by: MotoX395 on June 24, 2005, 03:25:28 AM
Just stopping by to say hi,  here goes: "hi!"

Seriously though,  what are you all up to these days?  I'm starting to get the urge back for this game but I don't know how the activity around the game is nowadays. (not that it really matters to me)  Are my trusted friends still alive?  Kyle, Alex, Mike, whoever â€" are you guys still here?
I sat here having one of my breaks from work and got a bit sentimental about things. :D After all,  this is where it all started for me. (as for the most of you I assume)
I lurk around the forums here once a month or so and I'm always as surprised when I see how people still post and generally act as active as ever before,  it's awesome to see.

Anyways,  just thought I would step by and see what you all were up to nowadays. :)

Later

I'm around. A wonderful game called guild wars has had me constantly busy for 2 months solid. MSN no longer works, and I'm hardly ever on AIM anymore, but I'm alive.

Oh I've made it to old ascalon and done a few missions there, I  haven't had much time lately to play it because of work, but I am going to make sure to get farther in it really soon.

So you just got to post-searing? Well then, want me to run you to yaks bend, then to beacons perch and on to droknars forge to get the best armor in the game? It will take about 2 hours of straight running.

Post by: Bunny on July 12, 2005, 03:18:31 PM
Haha, Yeah I've been at the post-searing for quite a few days.

That'd be great if you could do that for me.  I'll add you to my friends list next time I play.

Alright,  stop hijacking my thread you goofs. ;)

Since this is off-topic already,  do you mind if I ask a general question and share an opinion?
"Of course not!"
Thanks...

Soooo,  a long time ago I picked my stuff together,  left some of the mcm2 forums and literary grew up.  I see that others still have that move on their apparently well hidden to-do list now when I scroll around on the MCMfactory forums though.  What is up with people?  What's up with the major offensiveness towards some people whoâ€"as far as I can seeâ€"does nothing wrong but simply "suck" at what they do.  I see this "Wil" guy posting random (yes, not so good) creations and also giving D-Dub some "props" for his creations which he obviously looks up to and D-Dub basically returns the favour with suggesting to ban this guy for "sucking".  I mean come on,  I remember a time when D-Dub was in "Wil's" shoes and had a hard time creating anything decent,  don't these guys remember anything but what happened last week?  It's a pain to say this but the forums on MCMfactory (the site, administration, and the service they provide is great,  I say nothing about that) really hurts the appearance of this community.  In contrast to these forums of course which has remained with it's friendly aura, good job on keeping it clean and friendly here guys.

Just venting my opinions and thoughts...

I agree with ya simon.  MCM factory has become the child that is worse than his parent MCM Central. lol  It does seem like there is a lot of offensiveness and bitterness towards people there.

Yeah, Danny, has some weird psycho problem, lol, where he has to discourage the rising people.  The only reason why he does this I believe is because he thinks he is the Top of the mcm2 community right now.

I didn't say this was one person.  It is 75% of the people at factory. lol

meh I guess your right Simon, I was in his shoes before. But the problem is that he just doesnt listen. People will tell him that he needs to improve and fix certain things and he just doesnt do it. On top of that he usually floods the tricks page with subpar tricks causing the good creators stuff to get blown off in a couple days. Now getting back onto topic .. uh humm ..

Welcome back man and I hope to see you on MSN sometime soon :)

The way I look at it-

There are many "top" creators in this game. Even from a few years back (DaveÜ for example). I don't think any of these top guys are "#1"..seems to me it's more of a groupd thing. Not just one person is the #1 best guy. Some people, of course, will say that "so and so" is the best at "this or that". That's fine, but from my point of view the top creators are all "#1". Only thing that bothers me about these newbies at skinning is they rip constantly. I get credit now since I released bases, which is cool, no problem anymore. To see someone saying "I did this all, from scratch and took me hours"...like, how stupid are you? You try to pass it off as your own creation, when others know you hardly made anything but some scribbles. Like c'mon..grow up a little please.

Not to mention, a few creations truley, do suck bad. Some done in MS paint with "paintbrush words, and size 1 pixelated lines all over the place. What visionaries they are. Stupid phrases like "G-Unit"..like, a bike dedicated to the worse possible music ever? rap? Blah! Can't spell crap, without rap. ::) Anyways, there are some newbies that have impressive creations, though it's on a base already made but some are decent atleast. Bothers me most to see total crap uploaded, that goes for tracks as well. Then again, that's just me and my opinion(s).

Thanks for understanding,  you grew some years in my eyes already.  I have been reading some more on "The factory" now and I guess I was rude to blame you in person,  it seams to be the law of the jungle that rules around there.  O_o

Oh well,  *#*#* happens.

Thanks for welcoming me back,  it's nice to see you all again and I'm happy to be back.  :D

Oi,  now I'm stuck in this dirt again!

We'll see I guess,  once I get my actual computer back I'll take a look at my huge archive of dumped displacement maps and see if anything is to be used.  :)

Oh and by the way (I don't want to make another "ZOMG FIREFOX!!!" thread for this),  Google Toolbar (http://toolbar.google.com/firefox/) was released for Firefox a while back.  I can recall that people had the lack of a "Google Toolbar" on the list of why they don't use FF just yet.  :)
