OMG Dude! Are you back? I just saw you logged on here. It is nice to see such a monumental part of the MCM2 early days hanging around here. If you don't make tracks, keep in touch with us all man.
BTW... Are you working for rainbow now? Or is that a rumor?
Rebase for president!
Unless it was some silly session bug on the forums I demand a "hi from me!" post! :O
He was here.....he registered on the forum yesterday.
Pete
This is like someone seeing Jeremy McGrath at Wal-mart. lol A legend in a public place. :D
take a look at his profile then his email:robertk@rainbowstudios.com
Oh man, get him to say something!!!
He should make some new mcm2 tracks lol
Man, his tracks were the very first GOOD custom tracks ever for this game. Some 5 years ago or something....
(Note, he is the latest member!)
I wrote 3 whole paragraphs and hit spellcheck and I think it erased the whole thing!! Waaa Waaaa (Debby Downer style)
In short, you guys make me feel like a celebrity and I thank you for all the support. Keep tuned in as I have a lot of new things going on and would really like to share what I can with the MCM2 community.
More soon!
DIZ_No_Rebase (It feels good to type that again!)
Glad to have ya back man. New things huh? Can you give a few hints for us? :D Oh and you should feel like a celebrity here. You are the one that got most of us interested in track making. Me for sure.
I remember his tracks, very faintly though. Cool to see a few familiar people come back. Hopefully we will see some new stuff soon. 8)
If you work for rainbow.... Can you tell us some MCM2 secrets or if there will EVER be a new PC mx game?
can you spell P. O. R. T. Diz?? ;D
Oh man, that would be so awesome. lol I hope he can spell it. ;D
omg omg omg *runs around in circles*
Glad to see you around here Diz! :D
The only thing I CAN say is that we haven't forgotten about the MCM2 community. We all want a port to the PC also but I think the decisions are really influenced by THQ wanting to respect the consoles, dollars and cents, and other things that strangle what we all dream of. It's part of business, it's understandable, but it sucks when you really want to do something like port it to PC and it just doesn't make it. We've suggested it and go to bat for it every time we make a title. The closest we've come so far is SonyOnline and XBOXLive. We haven't given up and neither should you.
The new things come more in the way of opportunity. I have been here at Rainbow/THQ for 4 1/2 years now. I am the lead terrain creator and have the freedom to create anything I want (following the design doc, of course) and know that it will make it into the game. Sometimes it gets a little repetitive but we always try to change it up to keep the player interested as well as give us something new and exciting to design and work on. Apart from the many SX and Nat tracks I've made, I've also been able to help create stuff like the ice hockey level found in ATV2, Monser Truck, Trophy Truck, and Golf Cart levels, as well as new Supermoto tracks found in MXvsATV. I tried to do the 'up through the peristyles ala L.A. Colliseum' from the day I got here. It was the first track I created when I came to Rainbow and it idn't make it in until MXvsATV due to issues that we had to iron out. But it finally made it!!
If the above sounds interesting to you, keep reading! It's now my responsibility to find another track creator. While I would think it was the job of a lifetime for most anyone, I must point out the obvious hurdles. You must become a full-time THQ/Rainbow employee and live (relocate) in Phoenix. Knowledge of Photoshop and Max are very important but second to someone who knows and loves racing and would dedicate all their passion to making the best levels in the industry. I'm at work right now and getting paid to be on this site! It really is a blast. It also comes with late nights and crunch times but I wouldn't change it for the world.
I apologize if this has turned into the longest post in the world. ;D If you know someone that might be interested please respond to this thread. Please do not contact my e-mail directly unless asked to. This may be YOUR chance to be a part of making this game finally ported to the PC.....or maybe not.
More to come and thanks again. Without you guys I wouldn't be here and I hope to give back to the community that has done so much for me.
DIZ_No_Rebase
Man, I would love that job, but I just can't justify moving to phoenix. :( Can Rainbow move to Kentucky for me please? ;)
If you could, could you PM me some more info about the job. I want this thing so bad, but I just don't know about moving all the way across the country. I am interested in what Rainbow would have to offer though.
Well...I'm semi-retired at 41 and wouldn't mind at all moving to some place warm!
I assume that you know WHO I am and what I've done and this is probably my dream job for sure. I'll throw my 'hat' into the ring and if you'd like to get ahold of me and talk more about it, or get some links to download some of my stuff don't hesitate.
:o
I'd be very interested in this, I do have to admit my max skills aren't as professional as other MCM2 creators. But I'm defiantly willing to learn and expand my knowledge as I do every day.
I'm currently a resident of Canada and would be willing to relocate.
If you need any further info please feel free to contact me at anytime.
you can also check out my website for futher information if required.
http://www3.telus.net/public/dsteel
Both of you guys would make great employees for rainbow. Hell... they need both of you. I caould see MX vs ATV 2 with some tex from Denny. OMG! wow. :D
If you are looking for someone 51 is the man to have. The guy is amazing at making his tracks and textures.
heres a track hes been workin on for along time. http://img124.exs.cx/img124/676/BSX1.jpg
I'm extremely interested as well. I've send Rainbow emails previously, both directy and through Bruce aka AMA_Dirttwister, but never heard a reply.
I'm very familiar with photoshop, and I know the basics to max. I'm currently in college, working on a graphic design major. I'm willing to relocate the day (if) I got the job.
I'm currently working on a track, which has been pretty hush hush. Look for it soon, called "Clean". I'm paying super close attention to detail, but with a short summer break, I should have it released soon.
Could you reccommend just what it takes to be considered for the job, besides what you said earlier. For example, would it be good to send photoshop documents of disp and tex maps, and anything else?
Also, how soon in Rainbow looking to hire? If one person gets the job, does that mean they wouldn't consider hiring a second?
All great questions KXmotox45. Your name looks familiar and I think we spoke in the past.
I must also take this time to apologize to anyone who contacted me from the zone a few months back inquiring about a position here. We were, and still are, actively looking for track builders but at that time I was trying to do it on my own time and trying to ship a game. Now I'm doing it as a task and MXvsATV is out the door. So this is serious and please only inquire if you are seriously willing to work here at Rainbow. The best process I can come up with is to let this thread run about a week and put together a list of all potential names. At that point I will give each builder on the list instructions on how to send me their work. Send anything you have! Displacements, Textures, Max files, MCM2 tracks, even layout work. I'd like to see your creativity in all forms.
KXmotox45, It sounds like you want this more than many I've talked to and would be an asset to our team. You're absolutely on the list and nothing more is needed at this time. Get your things together and by next Friday May 6th I start contacting people on where to send their stuff. I'll take a look and set up a meeting if we want to take it further. That's it.
We would like to have more than one more track builder but at the time I can only promise one. We are looking to hire immediately. The job requires that you know and love racing and can make a decent track. When I started I barely knew Photoshop and could barely make my way around Max. I would prefer someone know more than that but true passion and desire can overshadow knowledge any day in my book.
I'll also only add people who respond to this thread on the list. I appreciate the info on who good builders are but I want them to want the job. Tell them to get in here and respond or they may miss an oppotunity of a lifetime.
-DIZ-
Holy crap Mike.....Go for it if you can,I wish you the best of luck if you try to land this position.Actually good luck to Paul and Denny as well.Sounds like a dream job.Good luck to all of you!
I'd love to work for Rainbow, but I know for a fact I can't move all the way to Pheonix, so I won't bother applying.
That sucks. Phoenix is beautiful right now!! However, it will hit 110 degrees soon enough.
So I have a list started:
VMX SKYmx99
VMX ElDiablo
V Sdesign
KXmotox45
I'll keep updating until Friday May 6th and then contact the people on the list. I'll give more info at that time but if anything I've said so far makes you obviously not interested please ask me to withdraw your name. This doesn't make you obligated to anything other than more info if we select you from the list. Please don't ask me to just check your stuff out if you're not interested in the whole package. I may have time to do that later after I find someone to hire but for now, serious possible job applicants only please. Good luck!
-DIZ-
I would definitely recommend you make this offer to Mike McCue, he doesn't hang out here to much anymore but you can email him at mike@harmoniccycle.com.
I am really interested, but I need to know mor einfo about salary, and stuff, before I can make a life changing move. It has always been my dream to work for you guys. So if you could PM or email ( alex.lewis@gmail.com ) some more info about the job I would REALLY appreciate it.
Also did you say you wanted us to send a little portfolio of work?
Wow, I'm kinda speachless. Good think I can type.
I just have one more question. This track I'm working on, can I release it to the public, as well as send anything and everything to you guys?
QuoteGood thing I can type.
One thing I'm not that great at, but I can usually get my point across. ;D
I would have to say this is defiantly a dream job for me. I've applied every time an opening has been mentioned here or on any other mcm2 site. I've also on one occasion, applied directly to Rainbow, just hoping for that foot in the door.
It sure would be great to have an opportunity to at least show off some of my skills. lol
Guess I'll start working on getting my stuff together. ;)
Read his last post again Alex...he said that he's going to wait for a week and see who all applys for the job and THEN contact us individually and tell us more about the job and what and where to send to him. ;)
Honestly nothing would make me happier than to nab this job and I DO want it badly. But I'd be happy for any of the guys listed to know that they got it, even if I didn't. Seriously, somebody tell Colin to get his butt in here. If he CAN commit to this he's probably IMHO the best choice. His mapping, max and texture skills are the best for sure. His maps may be a bit on the technicle side for console games that have to be playable for new players...but I'm sure that wouldn't be a problem to tone down if need be.
I gotta give props where their due! Sure I want the job...but I'm a hard-core gamer and I think if the right people are working at Rainbow (even if it isn't me) then we all win when their games hit the shelves! ;D
Well said Paul
My thoughts exactly ;D
Wow. I am proud of you all. You would all make a great track making team. Hope someone here gets the job for sure.
Good luck.
Man, I just woke up and want this more than ever now. Yesterday I was like, not this can't happen to me, but it is. lol I have always been one of those to settle for something even if I know I could get better. I'm tired of doing that. I want this job. And I will try my hardest at whatever it is I must do for you guys.
Also, I agree with paul. Any of us 4 that get it will be perfect for the job.
It was an unbelievable opportunity for me and it's nice to see that excitment in some of these replies. It feels good to know that I can offer something like this to the group of friends who helped me.
I must say this, sometimes it's hard work, sometimes I'm here until 2:00a.m. at the end of a project dragging nodes around in our spline editor, sometimes it seems as though the fun has been taken out of it. Sometimes you can't speak freely to your MCM2 freinds for fear that you may tell inside info that can get you fired and in many cases you'll be called a sell-out who no longer cares about the needs of the people who helped your company succeed. It sucks, but as I sit here today and write this I wouldn't change it. I get respect way beyond anything I could have ever imagined and I make video games for a living. I could go on and on but it's important to remember how you feel right now.
V_Sdesign said it right. I don't think it's best not to lay out a bunch of information up front and many answers I don't have or can't post here. I've given the biggest issues that seem to stop people from following through. Becoming a full-time employee of THQ/Rainbow and living in Phoenix. If you can honestly see yourself doing that, you have some basic track skills and a love for creating, a good atitude, then I would consider you. If we don't offer you enough, don't take it. You're not obligated. I just don't want to waste time looking at thousands of tracks to be told you want $300,000 annually and want to work from home. I can't discuss pay but I think it's more than reasonable for what we do and they are many perks of working here. You decide.
Keep telling people that might be interested to get in here. I need your help as I can't e-mail people all day and give them info. If they want it, they'll get in here and catch up. Can someone ask Mike McCue if he's interested and if so, ask him to reply to this thread?
Thanks again. See you soon.
-DIZ-
Hey DIZ, is it possible for you guys to use "user" created (user = out of house) tracks in the game? Are there legal hurdles there? Or simply undesirable from a quality standpoint?
Cause, man, you could get a lot of entries, for free, if you opened that can of worms.
From our standpoint on stock tracks, (tracks that ship with the game) user created tracks won't work and one of the reasons we are hiring a track creator. Sending in displacements and having the team make them work in game just does not work.
We would like to implement an option where people could upload tracks, skins, and mods similar to MCM2 but that has proved to be a tall order. Keep your fingers crossed.
That's too bad. I would think that even getting some sort of barebones "outline" of a track would help you guys, but then again you would probably spend more time tweaking it to match your physics then if you just started from scratch in house.
Uploadable tracks is far and away the biggest shortcoming from the console games you guys have produced to this point (that and floaty physics).

I contacted Mike for you.
Thanks
After our conversation last night DIZ, I am looking into my options, like I explained, I used to live there and the wife actually likes the idea, I will keep ya posted.
There´s good names posted here already.Personally I would like to see someone with a realistic touch on trackmaking get the job.
I haven´t bought any of these console games because they suck big time.Is one track maker going to change that?, I doubt it.
You´ll make one guy happy and feeling like he´s james bond but we´ll still get the same *#*#* because it´s all about the money.. ???.
i can only dream about a job like this lmao
What happens when you take a hobby that you enjoy and start doing it 40+ hours a week as work is you don't enjoy it as much as you used to or worse you can't stand to have anything to do with it outside of work.
I once thought I wanted a job lke that but I really don't want to stare at a computer screen that much and doubt I would make as much money as I'm already making.
I think one thing that's being overlooked in all the "excitement" that's been mentioned THIS DOES NOTHING FOR US COMPUTER GAMERS!
We all want a new MX game with an editor like MCM2, I have alll the MX Unleashed -ATV games and with each new release I'm am less excited about playing them and get bored with them quickly. Even my 2 boys only played MX Unleashed vs ATV for a week now it just sits in its case. People want to create their own stuff and play and share it. Console games are a dead end street - except for the game developers that want us to buy new tracks in the form of a "new" version every 6 months.
.
Hi Robert!Â
AMA_King also wants the JOB!
I sent my resume (and track links) to RB in late January.
If you need an update, please contact me!
talk2troy@yahoo.com
Holy *#*#*, how ya doing king?
The King rules! hehehe... get it?Â
I'm doing VERY good... how 'bout you?
I drop in here & read stuff all the time, but don't say much.
I recently quit a really good sales gig to pursue my creative passions.
I decided I didn't want to be miserable for money... and then this comes up!
Soooo - in short - I'm available!
I remember back in the day you made like a 6 minute track that kicked ass. I'm doing well, thanks for asking. Good to see all the vets getting back
Thanks for the heads up Extreme. Noticed my handle mentioned. Here's a little bit of my motocross/MCM2 background:
27 years old. Raced motocross/supercross on both amateur and professional levels so I have a decent grasp on fundamentals of real motocross and supercross and bike and rider physics. Been making tracks for 4 years or so. Modelling/scene render experience in 3dsMax (3 years). Photoshop graphic/texturing experience (4 years).
I live in Encinitas, CA currently, but relocating is not a problem. My current schedule will probably nixx me from this whole deal. I leave the country from May 10th until June 1st. On June 9th I will be leaving again for Montreal. So, basically I am not going to be available until the end of June/beginning of July. I definitely wouldn't mind coming in late though. I would love to contribute to this project.
I can be contacted via email: fiftyone@cox.net
I haven't had time to read through the whole thread so if I missed any special instructions please let me know. I'm in the middle of going live with another website so I'm currently swamped. Again, I am definitely IN if possible. I can put a portfolio online next week. If there's anything else necessary post here.

I'm down to carpool with ya blue lol.
51, I've said it before and I'll say it again. Your work is amazing
im always amazed by 51s work, he seems in another league. his tracks are totally different and innovative, quite possibly the best creator on mcm2 imo

I AGREE, I even told DIZ that 51 was my first pic, no matter what
Yep, 51 is a pretty obvious choice. Most guys kid themselves if they think they got a shot against him.
Then he would have to put out more than one track in two years.I would like to see him make more mx tracks
though. And damn that dude is getting up there in years :P.
Im not saying he's not the best, but why would I be kidding myself to think I have a shot? ;)
I added AMA_King and 51 to the list. It now looks like this:
VMX_Skymx99
VMX_ElDiablo
V_Sdesign
KXmotox45
AMA_King
51
Here's an important thing to keep in mind. It may not be the one with the best tracks or most referrals that is offered the job first. We are not looking for someone who just loves MX and has no track building skills, or someone who has incredible track building skills but doesn't fit with THQ/Rainbow. When I started I was far from the best creator (and probably still) but my name was mentioned as a possible candidate and when I came to see Rainbow for the first time,(luckily I already lived in Phoenix) I realized it was where I wanted to be. I think they felt my enthusiasm, listened to my ideas, and decided to give me a shot even with my limited skills in Photoshop and 3DStudio. I dedicated many hours to learning more and the people on my teams helped me tons. If you have those same basic skills and would love an opportunity like this, don't sell yourself short. There might be an amazing track designer that tells us, "I only want to make tracks the way I want and I don't want to do those tedious and boring spline layouts." It is a job and we might consider someone else with a more positive attitude. I wish I could just create tracks that the hardcore gamers like us love to play but it doesn't work that way. Even with all the red tape I believe it is a position that someone would die to have. I hope I'm right.
More later and keep this thread going until Friday. Good luck to all!
-DIZ-
Sure we all may think others have a better chance. But who's to say we don't, thats up to Rainbow. At least thats what I thought this thread was about. Getting the chance, to do something we love.
This is by no means a competition, we all know who makes great tracks. But thats totally different since I'm most certainly sure that we wont be making to many MCM 2 tracks at Rainbow.
So in my opinion everyone has a chance, like DIZ said.

Thats far enough for me, even if my chance isn't as high as everyone else. I still feel I can do this job, if given the opportunity. This being the first step, getting a chance to show what skills I have.
You don't get to many chances to show your work to a game company such as Rainbow.
So thank you DIZ for giving us this opportunity and of course THQ/Rainbow.
Regards
Denny
yeah i was going to say it's all about compatibility and who fits into the puzzle correctly. there's alot more factors in there than just track making that DIZ has to consider. plus there's a bunch of track creators out there that make INSANE stuff. Creators like (in no particular order) AheadBMX, Twist, Old Robin, Whitey, PanicRev, Dumbcharger, MCMNut, Diablo, Rideblue, STC, Muskaman, Speedracer, tk_Bryan, Yamaho, Skymx, GravityX2, SDesign, Fixer, MinorThreat, and many more I didn't mention. By the way, DIZ can you email me any more information about the job possibly? more info on what your guys goals are as far as getting this person (track maker), what's to be achieved, income range, etc. like i said earlier there might be things that take me right out of the picture as far as my upcoming obligations and what not. i'd like to have as much info as possible.
yeah mec i would like to put out more tracks, but i've had to spend my time trying to pay the bills so that stuff has been on hold lol.
Damn... add me to the list aswell... Since my bike is gona all I had where motocross games... and if I can help making those I'm gonna put myself into it for a 110%!!! I don't have any pics of tracks I made recently because I've been busy modeling a city alot for GTA San Andreas. I'm gonna let my dispmapping skills free in PSCS/Max tonight or tomorow so I can show you some pics!
Btw, meybe you remember me, I used to talked to ya from time to time a while ago on MSN, my (nick)name was 'Clint R.' at that time.
I beleive this is everyones dream job. I can honestly say that MCM2 has made me one of those computer freaks. It expanded my horizon and made me one of the smartest kids in school. Im only 15 years old and I know how to work MAX, Photoshop, Adobe Premeire, Vegas Video, Adobe After Effects, and Dreamweaver. Im not bragging or anything, I just want to thank everyone in the mcm2 community that got me into it with out you guys who knows where I would be maybe I would be like all the other kids at my school whio go out and smoke weed. But I dont because of motocross and my racing career and I still beleive that when I get older I can get a dream job like this or another one maybe even a professional racer. I wish all of you that apply the best of luck and I will be waiting to play your latest track here at home on my PS2. Good luck guys and dont forget us little people. Thx again DIZ for giving all these great guys a chance of a life time. If I was 18 I would apply but unfortunately im not. Sorry If I rambled guys lol.....Kyle
Im with Suzuki... without MCM2 I wouldn't even know programs like Photoshop, 3D Studio Max excisted... now people still are like 'holy *#*#* how do you do that stuff man!?', and it's all thanks to MCM2 :)
http://taxpayer.nl/cR_MX_Track_01.jpg This is a track I made about 2 and a half years ago, and I'm gonna redo it right now to compare my skills from back then and my skills now... I might even make a stadium for it. Wish me luck ;D
Hahahaha
So true CR, I've also become a better person and learned a lot from playing MCM2. I knew nothing when I first started. Now its just unreal what I can do with a computer.
I've also meet some great people, which have helped me a lot.
Its definatly overwhelming, getting an oppurtunity like this. Once in a life time you could say. I've been going through all my old tracks and anything else that may turn a few heads. lol
Its just crazy how far I've came from some of my first tracks. Heck my first website now that was scary lol.
All thanks to MCM2, sure is weird how things work out.
It's good to hear we all have about the same attitude and understanding of the potential "deal" here.
I haven't done much with MCM2 but race & play and do some re-makes... I am far from the best among this bunch...  but I am certainly capable when given the time and tools… not to mention the input that would gained from the rest of a LIVE TEAM!
I think Techno Tropic is my only original MCM2 track... Â but I think I was an early innovator in MCM1's heyday and I made some good (old) tracks!
During MCM2’s lifespan, I changed careers & industries & did a lot of traveling and career development.  I've gained a ton of experience in many facets of business... and I can swim in the deep end.
From my perspective, there's a lot more opportunity here (for the individual AND Rainbow) than just sittin' at the PC and bustin' out mad tracks... Â there are so many possibilities... and with time... and the right individual... there could be even greater opportunities for even more people...
YEAH - I DREAM BIG... Â MMMWWWUUAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!
I added you to the list cR.
TO ALL: Sorry I'm not giving more info about the position. I feel at this point it's best to compile a list so I can streamline the info given. Unfortunately, I don't have the time involved to answer every question right now but I hope I've covered the basics. I plan to give each person on the list more info immediately after the May 6th cut-off (probably Monday May 9th) so they may better know if it is still interesting to them.
The basics:
1. You will be a full-time employee of THQ/Rainbow Studios
2. You will live in Phoenix
3. We are interested in immediate employment. (Reasonably negotiable - we understand people have lives and prior obligations.)
Has anyone seen Aus_Twisted lately? He wrote me a Zone message but I accidentally left Zone Friends running and was away from the computer. When I responded he was gone. If you see him, tell him I said 'hey' and see if he's interested in signing up here. Thanks.
-DIZ-
I'm not a track builder and i can't relocate to Phoenix unfortunately, but will you be giving help in arranging green cards or is this for US personel only? I only ask because because i see some non US people on that list.
Laurie
Basically EVERY program that I use for track making is something that I NEVER used before beginning to make tracks. So, I'd have to say that this game has caused me to learn quite a few programs as well. I always thought that making tracks for the community was the most that I could hope to give back to a community that has given so much to me. But this shot at an actual position on Rainbow Studios design team is just absolutely a dream...for sure.
I'd just like to say that (in my opinion) probably NONE of us would have that opportunity now without the guys here at Twisted Dirt. So no matter who gets the job TD deserves a HUGE congratulations along with all the regulars who hang out on the forums and provide us with help on creation issues.
As Denny and a few others have said, I don't believe that I'm the greatest track maker here either...but I do believe that somebody here is the best candidate for the job. With that in mind...I'll let DIZ and the guys at Rainbow decide who that is. The way I see it, as of the last updated list, we've all got a 1 in 6 chance of landing our dream job.
Good luck to everyone! :)
Maybe I'm seeing this wrong, but I don't think it's a sure thing for a MCM guy to get the job. It's just that Rainbow knows the best place to look for new talent, so we (mcm creators) get almost a direct invitation to sign up. I hope I'm wrong and they really are picking one from this list.
And along with the disscussion, I owe MCM and everyone involved a thanks. EVERYTHING I know how to do on a PC I owe to MCM. I can't say it changed my life, but it was there when my life changed. Weird to think that of a video game.
Fact #1: I can't promise that anyone on the list will be hired.
Fact #2: I have a direct hand in who gets hired and quite honestly, there isn't a lot of people coming out of art school with the talent, MX knowledge, and able to do this sort of creation. Most art students we see are amazing 3D modelers but lack the talents we are looking for in MX track building. There is a very good chance that it will be one (or two?) of you depending on how things move forward.
It's awesome to see the positive energy amongst competitive people. It already shows me a glimpse into you attitudes and that none of you slander other creator's work, but you actually endorse each other. That's cool!
mcm2boys, I'm unaware of the legalities of hiring outside the U.S. but I believe we had few employees (maybe we still do?) who came from outside the U.S. It's one of the answers I don't have at this moment but I don't see it as a problem unless there are many complications with doing so. I remember hearing about one employee who had to leave Rainbow because their visa expired and they couldn't get it renewed. I think Rainbow actually went to bat for them but there was nothing we could do. I'll try to find out more.
-DIZ-
It is good to see Rainbow seek talent from the community that still supports MCM. I don't post much or race anymore but still read here. Just waiting on more MXU tracks to play one more time. I am now retired and enjoying my kids, bluegrass music and church. Live on a Golf course but don't play the game...all I see is an awesome MX track when I pass through..LOL!
My question to Diz is what happened to Rob? Is he still at Rainbow? Also keep digging and prodding and hopefully there will be a MCM3 for the PC someday.
I noticed Paul mentioned Colin earlier as a possible candidate , which we at XPR are overwhelmed that you look up to him as a great track creator, As far as him looking for a position like this , I know he moved about a month ago and hasnt been online since seeing cable isnt popular in his area but i'm trying to get in touch so that he can respond to this thread and give his opinion on it . Its great to see ya Diz back in the community of mcm2 , allthough i'm not a creator i've been a host of many tourneys over the years and your tracks have always been ones run in them and gotten great reviews from all ;D
Good to see all of you and good luck to all who are interested in this oppertunity of a lifetime .

Didn't he say you have to be 18?

I didn't see that...
It would make more sense if you'd have to be atleast 18 years of age for this job.
That's true... Well I'm getting 18 on August 26th...
And if anyone is interested here's a sample of my work that I quickly wipped up,

The textures might look weird, I have the idea my monitor's brightness and contrast aren't set up to well... I didn't spend alot of time on the textures to, the ruts and other details could use some more work, but this is only a example. I didn't test this in-game, it's all made with Photoshop CS and 3D Max 7 (100% done myself, no patterns or anything used). Hope you guys like it, if so I might port it to MCM2... ;)
Edit: tw0_f0ur_ confinced me to spend more time on this so I might have updates soon... ;D

This is it!!! Â Last day! Â I hope that everyone who would have liked to have a shot at something like this found out that this thread was here. Â
Thinking back, I should have started a post titled something more like, "Attention Track Builders: Track building job opportunities at Rainbow Studios." Â I'm pretty sure that not all track builders even know who DIZ_No_Rebase is but by the number of views on the post, Â I think that if they even made it to Twisted Dirt forums, they at least looked at this thread. Â
If you are stumbling on this thread after the deadline, feel free to start another post if you're interested in a job here. Â We are always looking for new talent and there is no telling when or where it will pop up. Â I can't promise that I will be here as much as I have been the last 2 weeks but I hope to drop in frequently and keep up on all things MCM2 and track building related.
I must thank the amazing talent of the Twisted Dirt crew for keeping MCM2, user created mods, and track builders excited about the game and providing such an incredibly useful site. Â You guys rock! Â Thank you and thanks for letting me use your forum to do this.
Here is the final list I have: Â (please respond to this thread if it seems I've missed anyone)

same here :)
Ya I think that mine went through as well. Haven't gotten any 'kick-back' yet anyway.
Just wanted to say best of luck to you guys trying to get the job most mcm2 track makers dream of. I wish all of you best of luck and may the best one win.

Ditto. Its cool to see people here getting this opportunity above others. Especially since the people shortlisted not only are awesome track creators, but are great guys both in the community and in general. Good luck.
I didn't get any error or something so my mail should be send :) Can't wait for a reply... *jumps around*
Clint, you would move from holland? That's a long way. ;)
Goog luck to all of ya. :)
Yes I would, since I had alot of bad luck trying to ride in real life, games are my second option ;)
I received a reply that said nothing more than he got the email. I'd assume everyone's mail went through fine.
And I don't know if I've said it, but I also wish everyone the best. I know most the people on the list, and those I don't, I have a pretty good guess that they would put in 110% if offered a job with Rainbow. There's some people I'd like to see on the list, but for whatever reason they must not be interested. In the end, we will all win by having great track makers working on new mx games. Hopefully we'll see a PC version of one, but consol games are moving closer and closer.
DIZ, can you tell us anything about the future of games, especially mx related games, and where they will be heading with the new consols coming out? (the x360 for one) Â I'm just curious.
Well, I received 4 e-mails. I have:

It looks as if (according to this thread) cR and V_Sdesign sent something but I didn't receive it. I know our firewall blocks spam but.......WAIT! I just called our tech guys and indeed our filter did block some e-mails. I have received info from everyone but 51. 51 if you sent your info please let me know. Our filters may have blocked it but we don't see anything that we recognize. If you haven't sent it, please do so immediately. We are moving forward rapidly and need this info. If you're not interested, that's fine, please just let me know so I don't pass you up if you really wanted a shot. Congratulations to all and you'll be receiving a personal e-mail from me shortly.
Keep on MCM2ing and I'll drop back in to keep everyone posted on our selection process.

Never saw this thread until today as I haven't been on the forums for a week or two.
Anyway, I've always been very interested in a job opportunity like this as you know yourself before you started working at Rainbow :) I think you know from the past that I live in Australia, all that has happend to me late last year I think it would be a great time for me to move. It has always been a dream of mine to go to the US and see live SX races, atleast I was able to watch McGrath here in Melbourne back in late 2001 before he had that back injury with damaged nerves which ruined his 2002 season.
I have been building tracks since 1997 for Monster Truck Madness 1 which was probably the best online racing game back in it's time, I remember speaking to Roncada years ago about him racing on my MTM2 MX and SX tracks hehe.
If you can Diz, I'd like some more info on hiring somone outside the US and what is required.
