Title: Please Help (Dillo 2 Problem !)
Post by: VMX_D-Dub on August 11, 2004, 07:07:54 PM
Well, im workin on a new track and I have to pack it in dillo2. Well everytime I do so, in-game i get these white edges on my objects. And when i get close to the object the white is gone. Here is a pic of what I mean ...

I know you can hardly notice it in the pic, but when your riding u can really tell and it gets quite irratating after awhile.

Any help would be appreciated ...

When 2 faces are very close together it can have some weird effects... probably that's it... the game can't render it good or ur system can't... might be that...

If the object has some transparency then that could be causing this. In the SLT under ther [Material - X] section you can add an entry like this:

ColorKey=100,100,100

This will be the color used as a background to the object around the edges of transparency. The best color to use is a middle gray - 128,128,128 since that's the color that most things fade to in the distance. However if the object is most often seen against a white\lighter background like the sky then make it whiter like 200,200,200 or if it is against a darker background like a hill then use something darker like 80,80,80.

The color doesn't have to be a gray it can be any color and it is best if it merges well with the color of the things behind it.

Be careful editing the SLT since a slipup here can make the object useless and it could make your track unloadable.
